National Librarian, Mychal Threets, to speak at The Slover
Mychal Threets will be guest speaker in celebration of The Friends of Norfolk Public Library's 60th Annual Book Review Contest on Wednesday, May 21, at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to all. Register here.
Threets is a librarian, literary ambassador, and was raised in his local library as a home-school kid. He got his first library card at the age of five and was hooked on libraries from there. He considers it an honor to the library people who raised him that he is a recipient of the 2023 “I Love My Librarian” award from the American Library Association, one of School Library Journal’s 2024 Movers and Shakers, and one of TIME Magazine’s 2024 Next Generation Leaders.
